French Bulldogs have a complicated health reputation. Most of those issues aren't inevitable — they're the result of irresponsible breeding. Pairing without health data. Prioritising appearance over structural soundness. Homing puppies before they have a clear bill of health from the vet.
MPF doesn't operate that way.
Every breeding dog at MPF is health tested before any pairing is made. The goal of every litter is a puppy that'll thrive in its family for years — not one that photographs well at eight weeks.
When you take a puppy home from MPF, it's been examined by a licensed vet and comes with the documentation to show it.
WHAT HEALTH TESTING MEANS AT MPF
After years in this, there are a few things I know to be true.
Health is not a checkbox. It's a commitment.
Genetics drive every pairing. Not colour, not trends, and not convenience. Each combination is chosen with the long-term wellbeing of the puppy at the centre of that decision.
Every placement is guided.
From the first conversation to pickup day, you know where things stand and who to call. Families are interviewed, guided through every step, and supported throughout. A puppy isn't just sold. It's placed.
The relationship doesn't stop at pickup.
Many of the families who've received a puppy from MPF come back for a second. It comes from trust — the support and communication don't end when you drive away.
This breed deserves breeders who care. That's the only standard I hold myself to.
THE VALUES BEHIND EVERY PAIRING
I could've jumped in right away. I didn't.
After bringing Füli home, I spent years learning this breed properly. I sought out mentorship from experienced breeders. I studied genetics, health testing, breed standards, and responsible practices. I learned what separates a good dog from a healthy one, and what separates a healthy one from a dog that thrives for life.
MPF wasn't a side project that grew into a business. It was built deliberately, over years, before a single litter was produced.
That foundation is what families benefit from today. When you work with MPF, you're working with someone who put in the years behind the scenes — so when you reach out, you're not starting from zero.
YEARS OF LEARNING BEFORE A SINGLE LITTER
In 2017, I was backpacking across Europe. My second-to-last stop was Budapest, Hungary — my home country — before continuing on to Paris. That plan didn't survive the trip.
I met a Blue French Bulldog in Budapest who stopped me completely. I canceled my arrangements, ended the trip early, and came home to Toronto with a new companion. His name is Füli. He became the face of My Pawesome Frenchie, and the reason everything that followed exists.
At the time, I had no plan to become a breeder. I wasn't thinking about programs, genetics, or waitlists. I was a man who fell for a dog.
But Frenchies have a way of pulling you deeper.
THE MOMENT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
A breeding program built the right way — because the dogs deserve it, and so do the families who take them home.
My Pawesome Frenchie exists because one breeder decided to do this with integrity, even when integrity took longer, cost more, and required starting from zero. This is that story.
